I have been working as a Licensed Professional Counselor in a variety of settings for 14 years, but most enjoy my work in private practice. It is in this context that I really get to know my clients more deeply and help them better understand themselves.
As a therapist, I feel there’s a dichotomy to the work I do. The first part is the psycho-educational component: teaching my clients to understand more about how their mind works, and the various facets of their lives that influence that process. Then there’s the therapeutic component: helping the client to make changes in how they think and behave to have better outcomes in their lives. Through collaborative goal setting, we can map out a plan to help the client attain those goals.
I particularly appreciate the challenges of adolescents and young adults, and feel I have honed my skills in helping them work through those particular challenges.
I’m happy to schedule a free consultation to see if you think I would be a good fit to work with you or your child to help them attain a more satisfied life.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in the state of Texas, #19857, with a masters degree from the University of Houston in Counseling.
