The LPC rules have changed in Texas and now just about anyone can offer a CE program. But does that mean that everyone should? With these changes to the Texas LPC rules, it is up to the attendee to assure that the CE programs they attend are appropriate to their practice and that the presenters are qualified to present on the topic.

How often have you attended a CE program and thought “Well, I could do this much better than that person.” Have you thought “I could teach counselors about ‘topic X,’ but who am I to teach others?” Or maybe you have wanted to offer a workshop for mental healthcare providers but keep getting stuck.

Do you have a basic idea, but don’t know how to get down to the specifics? Maybe you know some of the specifics but are clueless about how to break that down into a teachable curriculum. Or you’re pretty sure of your curriculum but are lost when it comes to getting the word out to the community. Maybe you’ve proposed workshop ideas for state or national conferences and not been accepted, and you’re not sure why.

At this workshop, Kate and Michael will help you develop your workshop into a well-honed educational program, ready to teach. They will help you:
• clarify the goals of your workshop,
• teach you the elements that make a well-crafted program that will engage participants,
• lay out the logistics of presenting in a professional manner,
• and explain some of the options for promoting or offering your workshop online.

We want to help guarantee that LPCs in Texas have access to quality CE presentations. This workshop will help you fit those criteria. You will leave this intensive workshop with a fully-planned, professional educational program; a plan on how to launch the program to the professional community; and the confidence to teach like a pro.

Make it a retreat:
Spend the night on Friday, Sept 27 and/or Saturday, Sept 28
